We’re pleased to announce that our study titled “Head-to-head comparison of direct-input RT-PCR and RT-LAMP against RT-qPCR on extracted RNA for rapid SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics” is now accessible on medRxiv! 

In this study, we show the sensitivity and specificity of the LAMP protocols developed at the Vienna Biocenter on clinical samples and compare them to gold-standard PCR. In cooperation with Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) we obtained and measured 384 patient respiratory tract samples. These samples included both gargle samples and nasopharyngeal swab samples, and were tested with gold-standard clinically accepted RNA-extraction RT-qPCR, direct input PCR, RT-LAMP and bead-LAMP, the latter three protocols coming from or being refined at our laboratories.
